Sentimental favourite Red Cadeaux (Cadeaux Genereux - Artisia) broke down shortly before the winning post whilst competing in his 5th Melbourne Cup. He injured a fetlock and was taken to Werribee Veterinary Clinic where he was operated on. The injury thankfully is not expected to be life threatening.
